Having the right celebrant share our special day with us was as important as choosing the right venue. Before meeting Margo, we interviewed a number of celebrants who all seemed to be too old, too weird or had a particular focus on making the ceremony all about them, rather than us.
When we met with Margo, she was so relaxed and engaging, we ended up sharing a wine with her and told her all about us, how we met and discussed our relationship and the type of people we were, along with what was important to us on the big day. Margo took the time to talk us through some wonderful ideas of what could work, leaving it up to us to decide on the best fit, including how long we wanted the ceremony to go for. After our meeting she wasn’t pushy or contacting us all the time, we just knew she was there if we needed her for anything and could call any time, which was a relief for us because we had so much other organising to do.
On the big day Margo was early to arrive wearing a beautiful dress and fascinator as we asked, and came and saw both Josh and I separately to let us know she was there and ready to go, double checking we had our vows ready and prepared and still making the day all about us, it was like having a loving friend there, rather than a stranger.
So many people were impressed with Margo they complimented us on how beautiful the ceremony was and how loving her words were, a few people even asked if she was a family friend as we got along with her so well and she also shed a tear or two with us when we were exchanging our vows.
We couldn’t recommend Margo more and still feel blessed to have chosen her to share the special day with us.
